Luke provides a wide range of
nuclear medicine services. Our staff includes Radiologists,
Technologists, Nurses and Medical Physicists who work as team
members to diagnose and treat disease using diagnostic imaging
equipment. They are trained in the use of
radiographic/fluoroscopic units, computed tomography (CT), digital
radiographic units, mammographic units, c-arms, magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI) units and ultrasound systems.
The staff performs phlebotomy to establish IVs and perform
radiopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical injections, including oral,
intramuscular, and IV push under the supervision of the Service
physicians. All Luke nuclear medicine personnel have a state
license for diagnostic radiology with experience in nuclear
medicine imaging modalities to include planar, single photon
emission computed tomography (SPECT) and positron emission
tomography (PET). They are familiar with multiple
manufacturers’ imaging systems to include computer programs
for acquisition and processing, collimators, system safety devices
and peripherals. In addition, our staff is certified by the Nuclear
Medical Technology Certification Board. |
