Nuclear Medicine Services

Nuclear Medicine Services Luke provides a wide range of nuclear medicine services. Our staff includes Radiologists, Technologists, Nurses and Medical Physicists who work as team members to diagnose and treat disease using diagnostic imaging equipment. They are trained in the use of radiographic/fluoroscopic units, computed tomography (CT), digital radiographic units, mammographic units, c-arms, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) units and ultrasound systems.

The staff performs phlebotomy to establish IVs and perform radiopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical injections, including oral, intramuscular, and IV push under the supervision of the Service physicians. All Luke nuclear medicine personnel have a state license for diagnostic radiology with experience in nuclear medicine imaging modalities to include planar, single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and positron emission tomography (PET). They are familiar with multiple manufacturers’ imaging systems to include computer programs for acquisition and processing, collimators, system safety devices and peripherals. In addition, our staff is certified by the Nuclear Medical Technology Certification Board.
